Create a landing page

- [Narrator] One way to generate leads is to attract customers to your website and potentially gather information about them from what's called a landing page. HubSpot allows you to create these landing pages for free. We're going to explore them now by going to the Marketing dropdown and choosing Landing Pages. With the free version of HubSpot you can create up to 20 landing pages. And if you need more, and more features like analytics and custom domains and so on, you can upgrade to Marketing Hub Starter or Marketing Hub Professional. We're going to stick with the free version by clicking Get started here at the very top. Now this will take us to the first step, which is to choose a template and there are many templates to choose from depending on what you're offering. For example, maybe you're attracting people to join an event, whether it be in person or online. Maybe it's a subscription to something like a newsletter. Perhaps you have marketing brochures you'd like to give away, all you need is a little bit of information. Lots of templates to choose from here. And you can preview any of them by hovering over the tile like I'm doing for the newsletter, click Preview in the top right corner to see what that looks like. So we can edit any of this: put in our own logo, change the text. You can see the fields, we'll be gathering information on customers, potential customers: First Name, Last Name, Company, and Email and a button to get free widget. We can change that too, to get the free brochure, let's say that we're offering. So if you want to use this template you can click Use template from here or you can click the Back button like I am here in the top left to preview some of the other ones. But we are going to use the Sign up for our newsletter template even though it's going to be a brochure, we'll be sending out. So instead of preview, we'll just click right on the tile itself. Next, we need to give it a name. This is going to be an Internal page name meaning an internal name that will be used alongside our website, our company website. I'm going to call it Free Brochure, like so and click Create page. Now we're onto the design where we can start editing what we see, adding things, changing up content. Let's start with this image we see in the top left. Clicking it will take us to the Edit Image pane on the left hand side, and we can replace what's there with our own. Click Replace and then browse for your own. We might want to use a company logo, I have another recent image. Or you can browse folders if you wanted to and find something else. I'm going to go with this double-decker bus, that looks good. And instead of Sign up for our newsletter, I'm going to choose some different text that will direct people to add their information to get a free brochure. So clicking the pencil icon allows us to edit this module. Where it says Sign up for our newsletter, I'm just going to click and drag over that. Get our Free Brochure, like so. Down below, you can see some placeholder text. How about, Tell us about yourself and we'll send you our newest brochure. That looks good. Now down below, you can see there's No form selected, but we can click here to create a new form. The form is where we choose what kind of information we want to gather. So we'll give it a title. How about Customer information, like so. Down below we can click the dropdown to choose a form and if we don't have any forms, we're brand new to this, we create new form. And you can see the name is automatically added for us, Free Brochure, and the date and time is added as well. Click Create. So by default, we see one field in here, Email, and a Submit button. So if that's all we need, we can leave it at that. If we want to add additional information though or gather additional information, we can go down a little bit further and you can see, we do have that Email field and the Submit button, but we can add another form field so we can click there, click the Choose a property drop down, I'm thinking maybe first name and last name would be good. So as we scroll down, we go past the deal information, properties for sales, there's Contact information and there's First name. Selecting it is going to add it. Of course, we can move this around and we will in a minute, but we're going to add another one and that's the last name. So click the Choose a property drop down once again and scroll all the way down to the Contact information to find Last name. Once it's selected, we can see now that we have the order that may or may not make sense to us but we can click and drag these around to change the order. I'm going to go with First name, Last name and Email at the bottom. So just dragging that down below Last name changes up the order. The Submit button, I think is good the way it is, saying Submit, but we could change that text if we wanted to as well. Everything looks good and ready to go. All we have to do is make sure it's saved. You can see when it was last saved automatically but clicking Save ensures that we have the latest version. We can preview it now by clicking the Preview button and preview it for different devices. So you can see up here in the top right, mobile, we have tablet and then desktop computer views. So as we scroll down, you can see what that looks like. If we were looking at it on a mobile phone, on a tablet may look a little bit different, and desktop. Looks great. We can even use contact information we already have to preview it but I think we're ready to go. So let's click the Back button and go up to the top to Settings. You can see the Internal page name is still Free Brochure. Page title we can make the same. Down below you can see the Domain that's going to be used based on our company website. That's why we had to enter that at the very beginning when setting up our account. And then down below everything looks good. Enable featured image is an option that's off by default. We can choose or upload an image that's going to be used when sharing this on social media but I'm going to leave it off for now. There's an Optimization and a Schedule option or we can go right up to the top and publish. Clicking the Publish button allows us to Publish now or Publish and continue editing. Let's publish it now for the world to see. So you can see it's busy working away and now shows up in our list of landing pages. We'll also get analytics down below based on the usage as people start to view this and work with it. When we go back up to Marketing and Landing Pages we'll be able to come here now to see a list of our current landing pages, create more, and if we're done with a landing page we can click the check box at any time to archive or even delete it altogether. We're going to keep this though for a while to gather some potential customer information from our website thanks to a landing page.
